FGEA Scholarship Programs

Program information

The Scholarship Program, sponsored by the Full Gospel Evangelistic Association, is administered by the FGEA Executive Board with funds distributed through a scholarship committee. Scholarships are distributed directly to the college or institute according to the school’s term (quarter, semester, etc.).


The 120 Scholarship

Recipients must be pursuing the call of God to be trained for full-time ministry within the local church. Eligibility requirements for this Scholarship include both full-time and part-time course loads. Courses can be taken in the form of in-person or online college courses, seminars, leadership institutes, or other approved continuing education. As funds allow, books may also be purchased. This Scholarship is funded by churches and individuals who designate their gifts to the 120 Scholarship Fund.


The Dean Royce Memorial Scholarship - $1,500

Recipients must be pursuing the call of God to serve in full-time ministry (evangelist, pastor, missionary, worship, etc.). Eligibility is restricted to full-time, in-person attendance for tuition only.


The G.K. Rees Memorial Scholarship - $1,500

Recipients must be pursuing the call of God to serve in full-time ministry (evangelist, pastor, missionary, worship, etc.). Eligibility is restricted to full-time, in-person attendance for tuition only.


The Costley Missions Scholarship

Recipients must be pursuing the call of God to serve as a full-time missionary in a foreign country or a specific home mission field. Eligibility requirements for this Scholarship include both full-time and part-time course loads. Courses can be taken in the form of in-person or online college courses, seminars, language schools, missions training workshops, or missions continuing education. As funds allow, books may also be purchased.


The Wilbur and Maggie Booth Scholarship

Recipients must be pursuing the call of God to be trained for ministry within the local church in one or more of the following areas: preaching, teaching, worship/music/arts, youth, children, or media ministries. Eligibility requirements for this Scholarship include both full-time and part-time course loads. Courses can be taken in the form of in-person or online college courses, seminars, leadership institutes, or other approved continuing education. As funds allow, books may also be purchased.


Additional Scholarships will be provided for short-term learning opportunities, mentorships, workshops, and seminars to train individuals for service within the local church. These scholarships include travel reimbursement, books, and meals, as funds are available. These funds will be available under the FGEA Ministers Institute. These scholarships give financial assistance to individuals who meet the following additional criteria:

  1. Attends an FGEA member church or a church where the pastor (senior or youth) is a member of FGEA;
  2. Desires to fulfill his/her ministry as part of FGEA and agrees to serve in an FGEA church after graduation/completion with the leading of the spirit if an opportunity is available;
  3. Desires to attend an FGEA approved Bible College, Training Center, or Institute
  4. Applicants under 20 years old must have a minimum high school GPA of 2.5. Current students must have maintained a minimum GPA of 2.5 on all college transcripts if the institution evaluates on this scale. Returning adults must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 or successfully fulfill requirements for all courses;
  5. Demonstrates a need for financial assistance to further his/her education;
  6. Demonstrates faithful attendance and tithing to the local church;
  7. Serving actively in ministry in the local church;
  8. Provides a recommendation from his/her local senior or youth pastor, along with one academic Reference;
  9. Displays the leadership ability attested to by references.

Application Procedures:

This contains all necessary forms and instructions for application. It is the responsibility of the applicant to submit (or have references submit) the following materials:

Application for Scholarship, designating the scholarships for which you are applying

  • 2-4-minute video explaining your calling into ministry. How a college education will help you fulfill the ministry to which you are called and how you plan to fulfill that ministry within the Full Gospel Evangelistic Association.
  • Senior Pastor or Youth Pastor Reference (in cases where the pastor is a relative, you must substitute with a board member who knows you well)
  • Personal Reference (must not be a relative)
  • Transcript(s), including all high school and post-secondary education from the previous ten years
  • A recent photograph to be used for public relations, social media, and publications

For traditional college scholarships: 

All materials should be submitted to the FGEA Business Office by July 10th of the current year. Scholarship(s) will be awarded on or about August 1st. Applicants who are awarded a scholarship will be notified by phone or email. 


Scholarships for institutes, seminars, and online classes must be submitted at least 30 days prior to the beginning of the class or event.
